Jeanne received her 500 hour certification from the tradition of the Himalayan Masters at the Himalayan Institute. In addition, she furthering her studies in Tantra Yoga from Pandit Rajmani Tigunait.

The tradition of the Himalayan sages is an unbroken chain that extends for thousands of years, a living tradition that still exists today undisturbed by the passage of time. This tradition is not concerned with teachings that apply only to a particular era of history or geographical region of the world—its entire emphasis is on the experience of that Truth which is eternal and universal. To realize this Truth is the highest goal of existence, although at different times and places, different terms have been used to describe it

Even though the history of this ancient tradition remains shrouded in mystery, it is helpful for modern students to understand it and the lineage of sages who have carried on the teachings. But in seeking to study the tradition, students, no matter how sincere, are at a disadvantage. Many of the ancient texts do not exist in translation, or even when they do, their teachings require clarification and interpretation if they are to provide seekers with any practical guidance.

As Pandit Rajmani Tigunait explains, the unbroken chain of lineage in the Himalayan tradition goes back at least five thousand years (although Shankaracharya, the great philosopher and yogi, formally established the tradition 1,200 years ago). The sages passed their teachings on orally, each sage transmitting this knowledge directly to students who were prepared to receive it…

An Excerpt from Chapter 1, The Himalayan Masters: A Living Tradition by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Ph.D

The Himalayan Tradition

At first glance there seem to be many traditions within the long tradition of yoga, but in reality there is only one—the tradition that includes all, and excludes none, the tradition of the highest truth. This truth is not influenced by time and place, nationality, or race. It is eternal. It remains undisturbed and independent of the whims of society and its transient fashions. It is without boundaries or limitations, and it is not confined to any particular region.

Sincere seekers and teachers in this tradition are not bound by limitations of nationality; geography; or the fetters of personal ego, ignorance, attachment, aversion, or fear.

In this light, the tradition of the Himalayan masters is not so much about a geographical location as it is about the heights of spiritual wisdom everywhere…

John and Jeanne infuse the wisdom of the masters in their teaching and we hope you will join them for this incredible journey to the heart of yoga.

Please call for 500-hour teacher training dates, times and commitment. The next journey is January 2012.
