Yoga at Bear Mountain Ranch

On Sunday, August 31st, we had over 50 yoga students at our home to enjoy yoga, hiking, lunch and sangha at our property in Pike National Forest.  The day was perfect for an outdoor gathering.  Thank you all for coming and spending the day with us!

Invoking Peace Through Mantra

Mantras are tools to manifest intention and are available to us at any moment we choose to tune in to it.  According to yoga philosophy, when we call something into our awareness with a pure heart and attend to it, we are using our consciousness to shape reality.

Shanti in Sanskrit means peace.  The mantra, Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, has the power to invoke peace and this mantra offers us the ability to not only focus on ourselves, but others as well. When you practice this mantra, visualize each word's impact as you recite it.  As you recite the first Shanti, invoke greater peace within yourself;  with the second Shanti, offer peace to your family and friends; and with the third Shanti, offer peace to all the earth.  Invite peace to be your intention for your practice, your day, your week.  When you practice your mantra and intention with devotion, faith and focus, you manifest peace for your yourself, your family and friends, and your world.

Om, shanti, shanti, shanti. Om peace, peace, peace.
